How Much Should We Drink Green Tea Every Day?

Everything that is consumed excessively could be dangerous and green tea is not an exception. Indeed, this super drink can give plenty of benefits to our health. But, drinking green tea too much could cause contraindication.

As we know, green tea has benefits to reduce weight because it can accelerate metabolism. This tea also can fight against flu by boosting our immune systems. Besides that, this drink also can calm us since it fights against stress.

Not only that, green tea riches with antioxidant that combats free radical. And, experts recommended it as a drink to combat various cancers.

Dr. Zuo Feng Zhang, cancer epidemiology researcher from University of California Los Angeles and University of Maryland Medical Center said that consuming two or three cups of green tea every day could give health benefits.

Research showed that consumed five cups of green tea every day could reduce risk of gastric cancer. Other research concluded that drinking seven cups of green tea every day could reduce weights. And, there are more research showed the benefits of drinking green tea.

However, if you drink more than 10 cups per day, green tea might trigger certain diseases. There are some consequences from drinking too much green tea. Tannin content in green tea or black tea can reduce ability to absorb folic acid, important vitamin that helps reduce risks of birth defects.

So, if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, it is better to reduce green tea consumption. Two cups a day are already enough. Or maybe you ought to not drink it at all.

Green tea is also well-known to disturb iron absorption, that’s why experts suggest that we shouldn’t drink it right after we eat.
